  • Few Great Recommendations for Tripping!

Few Great Recommendations for Tripping!

mudlusciouspressMay 15, 2021October 29, 2022

How can you save money on your holiday excursions? Of course once you’re in your resort you want to take advantage of the trips on offer, because these help you see more of your destination, and often head to areas of historic and cultural importance. Even if you just go on a boat trip, or even visit a water-park, I’d recommend booking a trip or two, because this breaks up a two weeks’ beach holiday, making it less monotonous. Let’s face it, as lovely as the beach is, there’s only so much you can do!

When you book an excursion, be it through your rep or through a street vendor, you will usually get insurance included, however this is for the company and probably won’t help you out much in the event of an accident. For this reason, ALWAYS book your own holiday insurance. In fact, it’s not just for this reason either, because in the event of anything going wrong during your time away, which unfortunately can and does happen, your policy will be the first thing you fall back on, saving you hassle and a lot of money.

Even a basic trip to the doctor for a checkup will cost you big overseas, and when you’re covered, it’s the easiest thing in the world to sort out. If you’re not covered however, be prepared to give your credit card a serious bashing.

If you’re clever with your insurance search, making sure what you book is adequate, then you won’t break the bank, and you’ll have more spare to enable you to get out and about during your holiday. Despite that, I wouldn’t recommend booking all your excursions via your rep. Your rep is there to help you, yes, but they’re also there to sell trips and meet sales targets, and you may find that excursions via your holiday company are higher priced than those from local vendors. A walk down the main road of any major holiday resort will take you past several excursion offices, and they’re all offering the same trips as those your rep is selling. Of course you need to be careful what you’re booking, but if you ask the right questions, you could bag yourself a serious bargain. Every penny helps here!

Pre-holiday organization will also save you money, not to mention stress. Running around like a headless chicken will mean you’re frazzled by the time you board the plane, and you’ve probably spent a fortune. To combat this, I always check up to date airport information prior to leaving for my terminal. Next week I will be regularly checking real-time information using holiday planner, prior to my flight to Istanbul, and I know I’ll get important information here, as well as information on what to do at the airport. This helps me get in the mood! I’d recommend you do this pre-flight too, as it saves a world of stress.

Remember this advice when you’re out searching for trips you fancy going on during your break, and do a little research before you go too, so you know exactly which excursions catch your eye.
